What is the difference between your Basic Coupon Workshop and the Advanced Workshop?

The Basic Workshop is an introduction to couponing. The TrueCouponing Speaker discusses the main points of “how to coupon” to save over 70% on your grocery bills.

The Advanced Workshop begins where the Basic Workshop ends. It dives into more detail of the specific techniques of couponing, building on the ideas learned at the basic workshop. It is advised to attend a basic workshop prior to the advanced.

    4. Rating: +2

      Positive Negative

If I have not attended a basic workshop, could I attend an advanced workshop without being too far behind others who have attended a regular workshop?

It’s best to attend a basic workshop first, if possible. You may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with the “coupon lingo” used in the Advanced Training workshop. The TrueCouponing speaker may also assume his/her audience understands an idea or point discussed because of previous training. However, the final decision is yours. You are always welcome!

Are blinkie’s coupons pulled from a file of coupons?

No. Blinkie’s are coupons found at the store. They are located near the product and usually found in a little “coupon dispenser” that has a red light that blinks. I file these all together in a stack instead of by category. Then when I see a “blinkie” as a match on the weekly shopping list I just go to my blinkies and search for the particular item. Quick and easy!

Ever since I have been requesting free samples and signing up for printable coupons, I have been getting a lot of junk mail. I’m not sure it’s worth it.

Signing up for FREE samples, requesting coupons by mail or registering to print coupons online will get you a little extra junk mail. Only you can decide if it’s worth the savings for you. My thinking is this…I’m going to get junk mail no matter what, right? So, why not get some coupons and free stuff in there, too!!! Getting a package in the mail is kind of thrilling no matter what your age. Getting something for FREE just adds to the fun for me. I love my junk mail! Where can I get the Conagra Rediscover Family Coupon Booklet?

Several times a year Conagra offers a “rebate coupon offer”. In order to get these coupons, you have to purchase a set amount of Conagra products then submit your receipts before a given deadline by mail. When these rebates are available, we will post and let you know about them. (See a previous post HERE.) To be ready for such offers, we recommend filing your grocery store receipts by month. When an offer like this comes around, just go to your monthly receipt file and see if you have already bought the qualifying items.

Question about the printables. I attended the class this week. Should we be printing multiple copies of these coupons? That seems like a large expense in paper?

We suggest printing high value coupons for products that you normally use as soon as you see they are available. Most printable coupons have a limited number of prints. Almost any coupon valued at $1 or more will run out of prints pretty quickly. We also post deals we find on paper and ink!

    21. Rating: +2

      Positive Negative

I'm having a pretty difficult time finding the printables when I click on them. I think perhaps your links are expired.

We check all of our printable links before posting them to verify they are correct. However, most printable coupons have print limits. Once the print limit is reached, that coupon is no longer available. If you click on a printable link that is no longer available from the link we posted, please let us know by leaving a comment on that post. We will update the list as soon as possible. It is best to print any coupons you think you may use (high value or a product you use often) as soon as you see they are available. This is one reason we post our grocery store lists as early as possible...to give our subscribers the best access to those printable coupons.

Where can I find the P&G booklets (P&G everyday savings, etc) that are frequently referenced in the store lists on your web site?

The P&G booklets were available last year. To get a P&G Coupon Booklet you had to purchase a certain amount of P&G products and submit your receipt to them by mail. Then they mailed the coupon booklets to you. The promotion has ended, but the information was HERE. We are still including these coupons on our lists because all the coupons in the booklets have not yet expired. I am quite sure P&G will be offering a similar deal again because they offer these coupon booklets regularly. We will definitely be alerting our subscribers if another one becomes available.

I know this has to be really easy to figure out, but just when I think I have it figured out, I don’t! How do you figure out how much in fillers that you have to buy when you use your RR’s at Walgreens?

At Walgreens, the number of coupons you use cannot exceed the number of items you buy (manufacturer’s coupons, store coupons and Register Rewards combined). You CAN stack a store and a manufacturer’s coupon when available, but in order to use 2 coupons on one item, you will have to buy an additional item. Click HERE for an example to help understand it better!

How many $5 off $50′s can I use when I get to the checkout register?

ONE! Per Transaction… So, when you are *about* to get up to the checkout lane, you pull your cart aside and make the last final check through your items and coupons. Stack your coupons in the correct order (see workshop handout) and pair like items together in case the cashier needs to verify the number of items you are purchasing against the coupons you are using. Then as you get into the lane, mention to the cashier that you will be paying 1 or 2 times depending on the number of $5 off $50′s you have. Go HERE for more detailed information!

When I use my daughters lap top and try to pull up the Publx ad it sends me to a totally different web stie. Why is it doing this?

My problem was spyware/adware had been downloaded without my knowledge. It was some kind of assist tool bar that tries to side track you and cause you to use their search engine. I found it in my add/remove programs~deleted it and made sure it wasn’t still on my tool bar add-ons then removed it from my registry. Don’t know the exact problems you all are having, just thought I would share mine. There may be other reasons why it is doing this....please check HERE if you are still having issues!

Just recently, I began having a problem getting the Publix current ad when I clicked on the Publix bar. It sends me to Verizon site. I used to get right in to find the ad. Now I can’t find it until I scroll down on the Home Page. Can you help me, or do I have to call Verizon? Thank you.

Web sites, browsers, coupon printing sites…pretty much everything on the internet gets “updated” regularly. When one thing is updated, it may affect how something else performs. Please see THIS POST for troubleshooting information!

      Thank you!

If an item is on sale (buy 2,get 1), you buy 6. If you have 3 BOGO coupons, you can get 5 free for the price of 1. If there is another way, I also would love to know :)

    • jax88

When I went to the workshop the other day, you began with showing how to get 5 free when you buy one instead of the advertised by 2 get 1 free. Is there a place where you have this listed on the site so I can see it again? I cannot remember how to do it, but I know it was brilliant. If not, could you please review it for me? Thanks.

Question about the website’s search feature. Is there any way to customize a general search when searching the ”entire TC website””? When I search for ”cat food”, the result lists many old post before recent ones. I was just wondering if there was a way to say search ”previous 7 days” or ”previous month” only. I love your site, and appreciate all you do to keep it running. Thank you!!

Can you use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO item at Publix to make it free? Could’t find the answer anywhere! Thank you!!!

    • Jen

It means there are regional differences in the coupon inserts (meaning that the coupon may be available from the Tampa Trib, but not the St. Pete Times) — so check the Coupons option above (in the second row of orange buttons) and go to regional differences for your paper.

    • Jen

What is the difference between a P&G (included in Sunday paper) and Target P&G? These appear to be different, but I looked through the Target flier, and there aren’t coupons.

    • Raiza

I was wondering the same thing. Did anyone answer your question?

    • Kathy

Is there a way to get past coupon inserts?  Sometimes depending on what’s going on I miss picking up my Sunday papers.  Thanks!

    • Greenoct7

It used to be that I could select Publix and the current sale, with match ups, from all valid Publix fliers was visible. Recently, this changed and now, when I select Publix, I see short paragraphs separated by flyer effective dates, but selecting the current date range only displays that flyer’s match ups and coupons, not the other Publix flyers with valid coupons and match ups. Why the change? I thought the other arrangement was so much more helpful as I could compile one single, consolidated list that was accurate whenever I wanted to shop.

    • ScrappyDooDa

Does anyone know if Publix will except printed copies of their coupons found in the “Find Yourself In GOOD HEALTH” booklet? Or will they only except coupons out of the booklet?

You need to contact the newspaper.  They will usually redeliver or mail you any missing inserts.  You may need to call them the same Sunday morning to get them redelivered, though.

    • http://www.TrueCouponing.com/ Melisha

It should say more than “Store Q.”  A store Q can be a hangtag, tearpad, from a store booklet or flyer.

    • http://www.TrueCouponing.com/ Melisha

If you are not using Firefox as your browser, try that.  Otherwise look in the “Technical Difficulties” section above to find other things you can try.

The newspapers in those paperboxes are not a reliable source for coupons.  Often people steal the coupons out of them.  Home delivery is the only guaranteed way to get the coupon inserts.  If your paper is missing the inserts, the paper will re-deliver the paper.  Sometimes the papers in stores have the inserts and sometimes they don’t.

    • http://www.TrueCouponing.com/ Melisha

GM stands for General Mills.  It is a coupon insert that comes in the Sunday newspapers.  It is usually available quarterly.

It was mentioned to set your printer to the lowest quality when printing coupons. My printer is set to that setting everything prints in draft mode, but whenever I print the coupons they come out in full high quality color. Any Ideas? is there a setting in the downloaded printer driver that I am missing?

Can I use Target printable coupons at other stores?  I notice when I print them they do not show what the coupon amount is.

    • Tarahoo9t

It would be great if there was a way to create a database so that we could type in what we want, say Bounty Paper towels and then see where it’s on sale this week and for what price.  Is there a way to do that?  Or, does the site already do that and I just don’t know how to figure it out?

    • Tarahoo9t

I’m not sure if they still have them, but Costco and Sams Club used to sell kits that you could use to re-fill  your ink cartridges.  I’ve used that.  It works pretty well and I can usually use the same ink cartridge 3 times before it gets too worn out to work well.  Other than that, I wait until there’s a deal, for instance, a few months ago, Target was giving away a $5 or $10 (I can’t remember which) gift card if you bought a certain pack of HP ink.  Happened to be the ink I needed, so I got some then.  Also, watch the Staples and Office Depot ads for when ink is on sale.

    • Tarahoo9t

You can subscribe to it at the Kraft website.  It’s not free.

    • Tarahoo9t

June – Our Wal-mart (Valrico) does not take competitor coupons the last time I checked….only manufacturers.  I have never had a problem with them taking manufacturers coupons.  I have heard that with the price matching they do, they will take a competitor coupon if is says something like “Diet Coke – $3.00″ but not competitor coupons that say “$.50 off”.   Did you have a specific problem at your Walmart?

I think there may be a glitch in your new program. Whenever I click on print my list it prints it over and over and over and… I found this out after hitting print and then going to do something else before getting it off the printer. It had used up all the paper printing multiple copies and wouldn’t stop until I clicked on my printer que list and hit cancel job. Is anyone else having this problem with printing on the new format?
