Thank you so much for all that you do to share True Couponing. It has blessed my family abundantly. Is there an updated version of the Walgreens advanced tips that includes their new member rewards cards and points system? I already favor CVS and this might just push me over the edge….

how do i find the printout of how much u should spend on items?

    • Nramos1

I had the same thing happen to me after I had run the same scenario by the manager before I got to the register. The bath and beauty cashier told me that it would not work, so we called the manager over to discuss it. The cashier and the manager actually got into an argument about it! Interestingly enough, the cashier had to enter the one coupon for two items separately and it worked.

I attended the Advanced class in Valrico on 2/25 and was excited to give my new knowledge a try at Walgreens.  I had 4 transactions all planned out based on rolling the RR’s.  I ran into a snag that I didn’t count on however.  I was very careful to make sure that I had as many items as I had coupons (not counting the store coupon BUT counting the RR as a coupon).  On tranasctions #2, 3, and 4, I had 1 mfg coupon that applied to either 2 or 3 items ($1/off purchase of 2 Arm & Hammer detergent or $1/3 packs of Trident, etc).  I was very surprised to find out that Walgreens now takes the quantity on the coupon into account and considered my $1 off purchase of 2 detergents as 2 coupons and it also counted my $1 off 3 trident gums as 3 coupons!!!  I had not counted on that and had to scramble to the Easter aisle to grab a couple of .29 Easter bags to offset the item count!  Has anyone else had this happen?

At the advanced class in Sarasota on 2/9/12, Kati demonstrated how to get 5 free Hershey bars but pay for only one using “buy 2 get 1″ coupons. I did not understand, but I thought she said it is explained on the website…if it is, I can not find it. Where do I find how to do this in writing?  I missed some crucial step,  I did not understand the “order of submission” and number of coupons  required for the register to accept this scenario.  Would you or Kati please post this on the website and tell me where to find it. Please, Please, Please help…..I could not sleep for hours after the advanced class trying to “re-enact ” her demonstration. Signed, “SLEEPLESS IN SARASOTA”

You need to ask the customer service desk for these saving books, due to the fact that they told me that they did not have room to put these booklets out on display, so they keep them behind the desk.
Not sure if all stores are alike but need to ask if you don’t see them.

WELL ACTUALLY, IF U SCROLL UP THEY ARE RIGHT THERE.

WITH CVS , U CAN SEPERATE UR ORDERS IF YOU  CAN. THEN USE THEM ON THE NEXT ORDER. OR U CAN SAVE THEM FOR NEXT WEEKS DEAL. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT U USE THEM B4 THEY EXPIRE. FOR AN EXAMPLE, LAST WEEK THEY HAD RAZORS B1G1 FREE . WHEN U SPENT 20.00 U GOT 10.00 BACK IN ECB. ALSO IF U BOUGHT 3 CARDS U GOT 3.00 BACK IN ECB. SO WHAT I DID, IS USE THOSE 13.00 IN ECB TOWARD MY ORDER OF LYSL AUTOMATIC SOAP DIPENSER. THE SOAP DISPENSERS WERE 10.00 EACH .WHEN U SPENT 30.00 U GOT A GIFT CARD FOR 10.00. SO I GOT 3  AND USED (3) 3.00 OFF MQ WHICH BROUGHT IT DOWN TO 21.00. THEN APPLIED THE 13.00 ECB WHICH MADE IT 8.00 PLUS TAX OUT OF POCKET. I THEN REDEEMED MY GIFT CARD ON SUNDAY FOR MY SUNDAY PAPERS.  WALGREENS, U GET REGISTERED REWARDS AND U USE THEN THE NEXT VISIT. IM STILL NEW AT WALGREENS. IF YOU GO TO THE GETING STARTED TAB AT THE TOP THERE AN ADVANCED TAB. U CAN FIND TWO CHEAT SHEETS ONE IS MASTERING CVS AND MASTERING WALGREENS. THAT SHOULD HELP YOU UNDERSTAND IT BETTER. GOOD LUCK. I HOPE THIS HELPED U.  (P.S. IM NOT YELLING — IM A CAP WHORE…LOL)

New to couponing but have been shopping at CVS and Walgreens.  Don’t understand Walgreens at all so simply go there for the deals.  However, I do have some ECB that print on the bottom of my CVS receipt, how/when do I spend those?  Just checked for an advanced class and the only one near me is when I’m on vacation.  Please help.

WoW! I have been in that situation before and the manager allowed me to just loose the penny. I guess I was just lucky. I had a situation that came up once. I wanted to buy Welches Grape Juice that was just put on sale that week. The self was empty and when I asked if I could have rain check they denied me it because they said it was not on the weekly sale ad. I asked if it was a clearance item? They said “No.”. I guess I just am confused of why they couldn’t give me a Rain check.

Question! I went to Wags and wanted a BOGO that ended up being 2/$1.99. I had coupons for a $1 off each item. The sales clerk would not take the second coupon because the coupons totalled more than the BOGO and that overage (.01) could not be applied to the tax. What should I have done? I thought about buying a filler, but the manager told me that I couldn’t because the overage could not be applied to the total. I then asked if he could discount my second coupon to .99 and he said he could not devalue or redefine a coupon (that it was against federal law!). Help! I’m confused.
