The holidays are when we must be extra cautious as we look for deals! I just received a text that says “Your entry last month has WON! Go to [website not mentioned so that they don’t get any recognition] and enter your winning code 6354 to claim your FREE $1000 Target gift card within 24 hrs.

So I went to their website, it looked legit. I entered my code (it was valid! Woohoo!) But when I got to the part where you have to enter your email address here is the “fine print” I encountered:  Subject to the following Program Requirements: 1) Must be a legal US resident; 2) must be at least 18 years old or older; 3) must have a valid email and shipping address; 4) Eligible members can receive the incentive gift package by completing two reward offers from each of the Silver and Gold reward offer page options and nine reward offers from the Platinum reward offer page options and refer 3 friends to do the same.

Are you kidding me? First, complete 2 reward offers from the Silver and Gold offers (that’s 4 offers) then complete 9 offers from the Platinum offers AND get 3 of my friends to DO THE SAME?!! That’s 13 offers for myself, plus getting 3 of my friends to do the same! (interesting, isn’t #13 a “bad luck” number?)

While this offer was NOT initiated from TrueCouponing, if you EVER, EVER, EVER find that you are asked to complete reward offers in order to get the offer that we did post here on TrueCouponing.com please comment IMMEDIATELY (anywhere on the site will do) and we will pull that offer and blacklable that link and contact the person who suggested we post the information so that they NEVER get to our readers again. We are VERY serious about authentic content and take your private information (which means your email address that we may not even have but you would enter into that site) very, very seriously. We complete these offers ourselves (and suggest our mothers to do them), so we must be sure that they are legit.

Thank you for letting me rant. Descending the soap box now.

~Happy Legitimate Deal Offerings!

Yep, I got it too. When it started asking me for the stuff on the website, I deleted it.
