my local manager stated to hand over your coupons first before scanning your card. it will work that way. if you scan your card first it views the items as not there. that is why the coupons wont work if used second

I’ve never tried to use coupons on the free items in the ‘Make-a-Deal’ or ‘What-a-Deal” promotions, but the official WD coupon policy says coupons will validate on the main item in the promotion and management approval is needed to use coupons on the free items. Many people have said their WD stores allow them to use coupons on the free items, and it’s not against corporate policy, but rather a decision made on the store level.
