In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, over 500 Old Navy Store locations throughout the East & South Territories will host Alex’s Lemonade Stands in August & September. This is the 2nd year that Old Navy will participate in this fundraising. In 2011, 91 stores participated in the fundraising effort and helped to raise over $100,000 for this great cause.
Check out the photo of Loretta when we held a workshop at the Old Navy store in Lakeland (at Lakeland Square Mall), they would love to see some TrueCouponer Support by coming to visit them any time this weekend! The Lemonade Stand (and bake sale) will be open Saturday, September 8th 12-4pm and Sunday, September 9th 12-4pm. Donations can also be accepting by texting “Lemonade E87852″ to 85944 when a $10 donation will be billed by the cell phone provider and then funds will go directly to the Foundation. All Donations go directly to the foundation and Old Navy will even match all donations.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott. In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has raised more that $50 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 200 research projects nationally.
Go HERE to call your local store and see if/when they are hosting a Lemonade Stand Party!
