Hi Alicia. I went to the one at 3406 U.S. 19, Holiday. The location Massachusetts ave was not happy at all to take them and it became a very awkward experience despite me offering to put them back I the shelves to avoid problems. The location in Holiday was no problem as well as the Publix In nPR next to Sallies and Youfit on 19. That Publix is the best.

  • Alicia

I live in the new port richey area. Can you tell me which sweet bay accepted them both. Thank you.

  • Amy

Thanks for letting everyone know! It is always good to have positive news!

Hi everyone. I just want to say that I have done this with ease at Publix and Sweetbay in the New Port Richey area. It can happen and it is not wrong :)

  • SusieB

Also, some of these have a “try it free” hangtag for a mail-in rebate.

I hvae been to two publix and had no problem. But the publix by my house in Hollywood ,FL didnt do the deal. The manager doesnt like couponers and he said that because the manu coupon says it can not be combined with any other coupon he wasnt going to accept both coupons. He said any store accepting both coupons was wrong. That he was doing the right thing by not accepting the two coupons. The Store #00629 the store manager name is Ray Rizzitello. Thanks

This worked for me at Sweetbay and the boxes also had rebate stickers on them, will be sending that off tomorrow and hopefully get the “purchase price” back!!!!! $$$$$$

  • Amy

You can’t use it with the MQ (because that would be using two MQs on the same product), but you could use it instead of the FREE MQ, and then you would only be paying the $1.79 that is left over!

I’m sorry but I didn’t get his name. I was there Thursday 8/23 around 1 p.m. I’m sure he would remember me because I had a crying 20 month old too. Anyways he and another customer service staff told me they couldn’t take the coupons together. I went back and forth with him several times. He proceeded to tell me the cashier would be committing fraud it they took the coupons – that’s when I decided to leave. From what he said, looks like other customers attempted the deal too but were given the same response – that’s why they had plenty in stock. I would think they would review the situation and instead try to gain customers – not loose them. If my local Publix had the items of stock I would not have attempted Sweetbay. I support Publix all the way – I worked there for more than 10 years and even if they changed their coupon policy I would still support them. This was my first shopping trip to Sweetbay and it will probably be my last.

I did contact the corporate office and was told that the ultimate decision to take a coupon is up to the store manager. That they try to offer the lowest prices compared to other competitors and that’s why they may decide not to accept a coupon.

I just tried to use the coupons at sweetbay on Bruce B Downs in the New Tampa area and I was told that you can not use these coupons this way. I also was given the excuse you may not use this coupon with any other coupon. I don’t think I will ever go back to sweetbay. This is the second time I have had trouble using coupons there. They are much less coupon friendly than Publix. I would not have gone there in the first place if my area publix wasn’t out of the product.

  • TrueKati

They AREN’T giving away FREE Products!! The Mfr is PAYING them back on our behalf! Which store were you shopping at? We will follow up with them to make sure they understand the way coupons work! And please give us any names of who said that to help in our quest to train them better! You can email Save@TrueCouponing.com to keep things anonymous here in the comments! Thank you!

  • TrueKati

We will contact the store and their Corporate Office as well :-( Can you give us the name of anyone you had spoken to…it will help in our quest to follow up with the same person…there is a lack of training. You can email Save@TrueCouponing.com to keep things anonymous here in the comments! Thank you!

    Using coupons to get items for FREE is NOT fraudulent. It happens ALL the time. {I’m not yelling at you…but maybe this manager. :) }

We have already had many reports of people doing this deal at both Publix and Sweetbay stores. Unfortunately, there are always some store managers who are not coupon-friendly and really don’t bother to try to understand.

We are trying to make contact with someone at Sweetbay Corporate to confirm their written coupon policy and see if we can help these store managers understand.

Perhaps some of you who have already gotten this deal at a Sweetbay could share which stores are the more coupon-friendly ones.

So sorry for your bad experience. You did not do anything fraudulent! I promise!

Which Publix does not accept the coupons? I live in Lakeland. Thanks :)

  • Mel

I was unable to do the deal at Sweetbay as well in Lakeland. Not a good experience. I even talked to the manager and to me he didn’t make sense. Basically the manager said that a cashier would be doing a fraudulent transaction by accepting both coupons and allowing me to get the item for free. Not really sure how this would be considered fraud – when they take a competitor coupon and a manufacture coupon for both items I am purchasing. Just so happens I would get the items for free with the coupons. I understand the deal but I don’t think they do. I called customer service for Sweetbay and it’s up to the manager decide to take the coupon. So it won’t work in Lakeland. I won’t be shopping there again. :(

i tried to do this at my publix annd they would not allow me to do it, saying they don’t give away “free” products and i had to buy 4 to use the coupons.

    Hi, Amy!
According to Sweetbay’s coupon policy this deal should work. You may want to print out their coupon policy and show it to your store manager the next time you go shopping. Maybe there is something on there the manager is not aware of. You can find the Sweetbay Coupon Policy here: http://www.sweetbaysupermarket.com/content.jsp?pageName=CouponsPolicy&leftNavArea=ShopLeftNav

We will attempt to contact Sweetbay to see if we can get clarification.

Stacking a store coupon and a manufacture’s coupon IS allowed by both Publix and Sweetbay. That wording is on most coupons and means you cannot use 2 manufacturer’s coupons nor 2 store coupons on the same item.

Stacking a SQ and a MQ is a policy that is allowed by some stores and not allowed by others. This deal would not work everywhere, but both Sweetbay and Publix DO allow stacking.

    Hope that helps!

  • Jna

It worked for me at publix.. I actualy had two $3 off the the fragrance mist starter kit and two for $5 off the oil diffuser starter kit… Two BOGO for the oil, Two BOGO for the mist and was able to use them all

  • Ashley

OK, on coupons.com there is a 5/1 MQ Galde Oil Diffuser Starter Kit… Can this be applied to the deal? If so it would make the refills a 5$ MM.

  • alisha

i just went to Publix and the deal worked. I got 4 starter kits and 4 refills for .73 cents total

  • NaTasha

This Publix coupon was in the SS 8/19/2012

  • Amy

I went to Sweetbay and they said I can’t use both coupons . They said to use the coupons I had to buy one of the items to get tge other one free. Is that right ? I even spoke to the manager.

  • Ivy

I’m also unable to locate the 8/19 SS coupons for Publix.

  • Darlene

Where is the Publix coupon at??

  • Sheila

Sorry meant to say I know you know what you are doing.

  • Sheila

I’m confused. Is this allowed? The one coupon says can’t be used with another coupon. I know what you are doing, I just don’t want to get up there and them say I can’t use it.
