June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month!

Use EWG’s Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides to reduce your pesticide exposure as much as possible. BUT, eating conventionally-grown produce is far better than not eating fruits and vegetables at all. The Shopper’s Guide to Pesticide in Produce (HERE) will help you determine which fruits and vegetables have the most pesticide residues and are the most important to buy organic. You can lower your pesticide intake substantially by avoiding the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables and eating the least contaminated produce.

Curious as to the changes from last years (2010) findings? Well, this year, apples have moved up from ranking 4th last year to the #1 position and cherries dropped off the list entirely! Lettuce, previously absent from the list, now appears at number 11. The EWG uses data compiled by the USDA to produce these findings.
